Digital Fabrication Lab
Fabulous Fab Lab
After updating the master facilities plan for Century College, LHB was selected to re-envision a 12,000 SF digital fabrication lab as part of a larger renovation project. The Fab Lab relocated and expanded to improve safety and function, provide additional student areas, and improve overall aesthetics in alignment with the college’s brand identity. As a result, the lab’s flexibility and usability were improved, allowing for broader use of the lab across multiple disciplines within the college and with its partners. The work was Phase 1 of a planned applied technology and digital manufacturing learning cluster. The full renovation project also addressed underutilized kitchen space was that was transformed into technology-rich classrooms, along with a modernized food service kitchen, serving line, and eating area. The project also renovated the old Fab Lab space into a technical classroom and dedicated lab space to support the expanding solar energy program.
