Invested in Supporting
Our Communities
Determined to Do Better
We are deeply committed to the communities we serve. Since the earliest days of LHB, we have been driven to be the best neighbors through donations, service, and volunteerism. From gender equity and social-justice issues to sustainability research and climate solutions, we proactively work to build healthy relationships that serve the greater good.
UMD Roberta Dwyer Civil Engineering Scholarship
In 2020, we proudly established an endowment in honor of pioneering civil engineer Roberta Dwyer. We continue to fund the scholarship, which supports engineering students at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Clarence Wigington Architectural Scholarship
LHB proudly contributes to the Clarence Wigington Architectural Scholarship, created in 1992 by the Minnesota Architectural Foundation. Intended to advance equity in the architectural profession, the scholarship provides financial support for promising minority students who wish to become registered architects.
Affordable & Supportive Housing
More than two decades ago, we participated in our first new house build for Habitat for Humanity in South Minneapolis. Since then, we’ve worked with nonprofit developers to create thousands of affordable and supporting dwelling units.
Donations, Service & Volunteerism
LHB regularly participates in local initiatives such as highway clean-up, Second Harvest, blood drives, and the YMCA Sidewalk Shuffle. We also donate to, and advocate for, causes that center on equity and social justice.
A Keystone Company
LHB is a proud member of the Minnesota Keystone Program. As part of the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce, the program promotes corporate philanthropy by recognizing and honoring companies that donate at least 2% of their pretax earnings to charitable organizations. These donations include cash or in-kind donations, including pro-bono services and/or employee paid volunteer time.
